Hello, nonexistent readers! Steve here, and this is my music blog. As I write this, I struggle to come up with a good reason for this blog to exist. There currently exist about thirteen trillion blogs dedicated to music-- rough estimate--, and while I may fancy myself as a foremost expert of music and an amateur professional musicologist, Lord knows there is probably not much I can offer here that is not offered elsewhere, and likely in more attractive packages.
But perhaps I'm wrong, and there will be something worthwhile here. Only time will tell. So I guess my reason for this blog is, it is an experiment for me. I hope you enjoy it.
Many thanks to the wife (Jocelyn) for help with the web-work and design... actually, that's probably another reason why this blog exists: my Jo wanted me to bother people other than her with my musings.
Anyway, what I hope to do here is update with some frequency on all things music: pertinent music news, essays, concert/album reviews, and the obligatory rants (honestly, what good is a blog without 'em?). Within the next few days I hope to post about the recently-announced Bonnaroo 2008 lineup, and I have finished my annual "greatest albums" roundup for 2007.
Namaste.

(maybe you'll learn something, too!)

Awesome, glad to see you joining the blogosphere. I learned yesterday that there are millions of bloggers, but it appears you already knew that!
I hope you do start posting extensively about music (or anything, really), it will be interesting to have a source I'm familiar with rather than random critics/internet junkies.
p.s. have we talked about pandora.com before? What do you think of it?
Thanks, old pal. We have talked about Pandora before, and I love it! Such a brilliant idea for a website, and their podcasts are so informative. I should blog about them sometime.
It's very weird to talk about blogging.
I exist! I do I do I do.
