I'm trying to decide if I should go see The Boredoms on Thursday night. I wasn't aware they were playing near me (or touring the US, for that matter), until just recently. This is a tough one.

I'd like to think a decision like this comes down to reason, that is, a simple weighing of pros and cons.
For instance, it seems a little much that I would go see them when I'm not really much of a fan, and I don't know a whole lot of their music, particularly their current, more ambient adventures. However I do enjoy them, and I imagine a love show would be nothing short of mind-blowing. And besides, they are unequivocally experimental rock legends, and their touring the US is an extreme rarity. And on top of that, tickets are a very reasonable $20 (or so, with fees). But still, it's not $20+ I've budgeted for, so I don't really have the money. Also it's not a good night overall; I've got a piano tuning scheduled after work, so I won't be free until just before the show, and weekdays are generally bad. I'm terrible at work if I don't get enough sleep, and with two opening acts that I don't even know, I'm bound to get home quite late and die at work the next morning. And lastly... I haven't really talked about these plans with the wife.
So there it is. To see the master Eye and his band live in concert, or not. What do you think?

Toughy. What about other impacts? Will it relieve some stress? If you were dog tired, would you feel like it was worth it?
Oh my goodness, you finally updated. If it's a big enough deal to update your blog then yes you should go.
Hey, wanna go see Scythian with us (me, Dave, Mel) at O'Shea's on the 11th? If you say "Who's Scythian," I will be very angry that as your older sister I have apparently taught you nothing.
ah yes, the interminable conundrum of the music junkie.
as the wife's friend, i say see what the wife says. ;)
i'd probably go for it, but take that out of my cd budget or whathaveyou, so i don't spend the whole night feeling guilty for taking money from the mouths of ruu.
